A new chapter begins
Before photography, I worked in science.
I moved to the United States in 2020 for my husband's job, leaving behind my career as a chemist.
Starting again in a new country made me feel invisible at times.
Photography started as a creative outlet, but everything changed after becoming a mother.
I began to notice something:
Women go through huge transformations in their lives — motherhood, career changes, migration, personal reinvention — yet we rarely stop to document who we are in those moments.
That is why I created Julia Matcha.
Now I photograph women who are navigating change and want to see themselves again — with honesty, softness and natural light.
